From nearly two decades in hospitality to one of America's leading private lending originators, a story of reinvention, leadership, resilience, and perspective.

I first met Jeremy Goldberg at the NPLA Conference in New Jersey in 2025. We were waiting for a table at a restaurant when he noticed my NPLA badge and asked what I did. At the time, The Elite Officer hadn't even launched. We started talking about the industry, our backgrounds, and a little bit of everything. It was one of those unexpectedly enjoyable conversations that happen at conferences, when you meet someone without an agenda and simply enjoy getting to know each other.
Almost a year later, I found myself reconnecting with Jeremy. But this time, it wasn't because of a conference, a business opportunity, or anything related to loan originations. It was because of what he had been sharing on LinkedIn. Over the previous months, Jeremy had started opening up about experiences that had shaped his life, especially the difficult ones. He wrote about leaving behind nearly twenty years in the hospitality industry, questioning whether he was making the right decision, and finding the courage to build an entirely new career.
